In addition to Lap Swimming, there are many ways to exercise in the water that can be done on your own in any of the indoor pools. Aquatic Exercise is beneficial by taking advantage of the softer landing that water provides on the joints and the extra resistance water adds while moving your arms and legs. Try Water Walking in the shallow areas of the Indoor Competition Pool and Indoor Recreation Pool, walking with and against the current in the Current Canal in the Indoor Recreation Pool, and off-the-bottom exercises in the 50 Meter Pool or deeper areas of the pools with a floatation belt or noodle. Water Exercise is not available at all times and needs to be done during Non-Open Plunge times. Other exceptions in the times apply due to other programs and activities. Youth must be actively exercising & must be supervised by an adult.
